Standard home insurance excludes certain things and damage from a lack of home maintenance is the homeowners responsibility. Examples of damage standard homeowners policies do not cover include:
- Flooding damage
- Earthquake damage ( unless you have our superior homeowners endorsement)
- Home-based businesses
- Willful loss or damage you or any in-house family members
- Damage by a governmental entity
- Damage from insects, animals, birds, and other pests
- Issues stemming from poor maintenance or neglect
- Damage from warfare activity
- Damage to property beyond your coverage limits
- Any exclusions named on your policy
- Most long-term water damage and mold
